Iibada Dance Company (IDC) is seeking After School Program Instructors for their upcoming Spring season. Their after-school instructors teach within the Dance community education program which is housed in partnering schools. They are seeking instructors who are proficient in ballet, modern, contemporary, tap, hip hop, jazz, and African dance. IDC is growing and new opportunities are on the horizon for us and we need experienced dance professionals to move this forward.

Responsibilities

Their after-school instructors are dance education instructors that will teach from a curriculum that pushes rigor, dance education, and the fundamentals of movement. The curriculum is designed to educate students from a world dance perspective and give them a cultural experience that will inspire further enrichment in the future.

Job requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
Must be technically proficient in the dance style(s) instructing
Must have the ability to work with children
Must be self-starter
Must be able to work within the hours of 2 pm to 5 pm
Must be organized and structured in teaching practices
BFA in dance is preferred but not required
Must have a strong presence within the classroom
Discipline must be apparent within your teaching style
Must be able to produce choreography for the end of the program
