Federal funding is available to help Hoosier families meet funeral expenses incurred through the loss of a loved one to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The death must have occurred in the United States, including the District of Columbia and the U.S. territories. The related eligible expenses must have been incurred after January 20, 2020, and the official death certificate must attribute the death to COVID-19 either directly or indirectly.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will begin accepting applications for this COVID-19 Funeral Assistance on Monday, April 12, 2021, through its dedicated call center at 1-844-684-6333 (or click here).
