FLAVA FRESH XVIII ! 2021-2022

Apply to participate in the upcoming 2021 – 2022 FLAVA FRESH XVIII ! Juried, Multiple Art Exhibition Presentation Series of Contemporary Art. This year’s run of the FLAVA FRESH ! Series will be comprised of “Three” scheduled Group Exhibitions which begin with the delivery of the first display of participants work in late June 2021. The Series will run through mid-January of 2022. The exhibitions will be on view both virtually and in person.

Their exhibitions are designed to provide the participants with exposure, media promotion and professional exhibition experience as well as to give guests, art enthusiasts and potential clients, novice and established art collectors the opportunity to become more aware of, and to gain greater interest and appreciation for the work of innovative newly-discovered, emergent, early-career and established contemporary artists in this area.

* IF YOU HAVE NOT PARTICIPATED in the FLAVA FRESH ! annual exhibition presentation Series, they require that you send your Contact Information, Website(s), a brief Biography, an Artist Statement regarding the work that you will be showing and 4 – 6 Low Resolution Images of your artwork by email to the following email address > FLAVAFRESHIndianapolis1@gmail.com .

Please put your Name and the words “Artist Submission” in the Subject Line.

If your work is selected by the adjudicating Committee, you will be notified promptly by email. They will send the timeline and information in regard to your meeting with the Curator or the Coordinator at the first venue and paying the “Artist Participant Fee” at that same location which should take no more than ten minutes when you drop off your first piece of artwork. Upon payment you will receive a receipt by email within 24 hours if you like.

* IF YOU HAVE PARTICIPATED in the Series before and would like to be featured in this years FLAVA FRESH 18 ! run of shows, please send your “Confirmation of Participation,” contact information if it has changed, an image of your piece for the 1st exhibition and the Gallery Tag information by e-mail as soon as possible before the DEADLINE: by MIDNIGHT on  SUNDAY,  JUNE 20th., 2021.

You will meet with the Curator or the Coordinator at the first venue and pay the “Artist Participant Fee” at that same location which should take no more than ten minutes when you drop off your first piece of artwork.   Upon payment you will receive a receipt by email within 24 hours if you like.

You will need 3 – 4 pieces of artwork to participate in this years Series run of “Three” consecutive exhibitions. The artwork for all of the exhibitions must be original, new or created within the last five years, and must have never been displayed in the annual FLAVA FRESH ! Exhibition Presentation Series at any time. Artist’s may present 2 or 3-Dimensional works (If showing 3-D, Please let them know when you “Confirm” your participation.). They have two venues which are available to 2 and 3 -Dimensional work. As always, the exhibitions will be highly publicized through organizational media, regular media outlets and beyond, so they ask that you REALLY put YOUR ALL into YOUR WORK !!!

By presenting fresh new artworks in each of the multiple venues, they extend the viewing of your wonderful creations to a much wider spectrum of audience. 2-Dimensional work must be framed appropriately or finished “Gallery Style.”   2-D work will not be accepted with unfinished bare sides/edges no matter the substrate, and must be securely wired appropriately (side-to-side). Artwork that is not deemed suitable under the FLAVA FRESH ! standards of presentation will not be included.

The “Artist Participation Fee” for the complete Series of exhibitions this year is $50.00. Unfortunately due to the ever changing mandates, ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the regulations and policies of each of the sites/venues there will not be any artists receptions held this season. The exhibitions will be on view both virtually and in person.

The FIRST venue is a “SMALL WORKS ~ ONE PIECE SHOW” exhibition.  THIS YEAR ALL 2 -DIMENSIONAL WORK WILL HAVE A MAXIMUM SIZE REQUIREMENT OF 16 x 12 INCHES OR LESS. ALL OF THE ARTWORK WILL BE PLACED INSIDE OF THE ENCLOSED SHOWCASES … THEY WILL NOT HANG ANY ARTWORK ON THE WIRE-GRID WALLS AS WE HAVE DONE IN PREVIOUS YEARS.

This is the only site that has plexi-glass enclosed pedestal showcases and floor showcases (If you are new to the Series, Please notify them promptly if you intend to show 3-D work).

**THIS SITE/VENUE DOES NOT ALLOW NUDES (NO Lewd, Crude, Raunchy, Vulgar, Frontal Nudity, pornographic or distasteful etc., work will be installed).

Participating artists must be able to Hand Deliver and Pick-Up their artworks, or designate someone to Deliver & Pick-Up their work for each of the Three venues. Participants MUST NOTIFY THEM AT LEAST A WEEK IN ADVANCE of Delivery and/or Pick-Up who it is that they have designated.

FLAVA FRESH ! staff or the partnering art venues/sites DO NOT WIRE ARTWORK, REPAIR ARTWORK, PICK-UP, DELIVER, HOLD, STORE or TRANSPORT ARTWORK.
