Carmel Community Players is excited to announce auditions for True West by Sam Shepard. This American classic revolves around two brothers: Lee, a hard drinking, desert dwelling petty thief, and Austin, a Hollywood screenwriter. Tensions rise as Lee tries to undermine a deal that Austin has made with a producer interested in Austin’s screenplay.

Auditions will take place:
Sunday, February 19, and Monday, February 20, at 7 pm.
Location: Carmel Community Players Warehouse
510 3rd Avenue SW. Suite D. *
Carmel, IN 46032
[*Note: It actually says Ste. “J” on the door.  If you go to the very north end of the building and walk past the dumpsters toward the large loading bay, the door is tucked back into the corner on your left. There should be signs in the parking lot pointing to the door.]

Headshots/resumes welcome. Auditions will consist of readings from the script. If you have a prepared monologue (not from “TRUE WEST”) you may present it as time allows, but it is not required.

Director Eric Bryant is seeking the following roles:
-Austin (male) 30-ish, neat, smart, a writer.
-Lee (male) 40-ish, desert dwelling alcoholic drifter with a short fuse.
-Saul Kimmer (male) 40s-50s, Hollywood producer.
-Mom: (female) 60-ish, mother to Lee and Austin. Loves her plants.
