Artists Sought for Memorial Bench Public Art Project

 Indianapolis, IN, Unknown

Pathway Resource Center is a transformational center of excellence that contributes to the workforce, family and economic development of the community. The center is located in the Amber Woods Apartment complex on the Far Eastside of Indianapolis. The programs and services offered at Pathway Resource Center are open to anyone that resides in Indianapolis and meets their specific parameters.

One of their signature programs is the Youth Council, a year-long opportunity for young adults ages 13-18.  Some benefits of Youth Council include resume writing, coordinating community events and activities and advocating for community wide changes that reduce crime.

For several years, this amazing program was under the leadership of an alumni member, Stephanie Wilson. In 2022, Stephanie had to step down from this position to give more energy to diagnosed health complications. In October 2022, Stephanie passed away leaving a legacy of inspiration and love for the members of this empowering program and organization. On March 31, 2023, Stephanie would have been 35 years old. The family at Pathway Resource Center would like to honor Stephanie’s legacy by installing a memorial bench outside their location.

Pathway Resource Center is commissioning artists to submit proposals with budgets to complete this project. Artists interested in submitting a proposal for this project should send an email to info@quadsolutionsllc.com and include the following:

  • Name (first and last)
  • Contact email
  • Phone number
  • Description of your proposed idea and quote of cost to complete (including materials and labor)
  • Images of previous relevant artworks and projects

The final day to submit your proposal is February 10, 2023. The winning proposal will be decided by the alumni and new Youth Council members at the first Youth Council meeting on February 15, 2023 and announced no later than March 9, 2023. The anticipated date of the installation ceremony is late March/early April.
