Mallow Run Winery is proud to present their Artist Series Wine project. Every year, a special wine is released featuring label artwork from a local artist that is chosen from dozens of submissions. This year’s theme is Works of Art inspired by Johnson County’s Bicentennial; this could be a historical landmark, your favorite spot, a special memory, or even a feeling that brings you back to Johnson County. A portion of the proceeds from this wine will be dedicated to the Historical Society of Johnson County.

Contest Art Guidelines

1. All entries must be electronically submitted to hannahg@mallowrun.com before midnight on Friday, March 31, 2023.
2. Each artist may submit a maximum of three (3) works.
3. Artwork must be ORIGINAL, completed within the last five years, unframed size minimum 20” longest side, maximum 36”
longest side.
4. Artwork must be inspired by Johnson County’s Bicentennial.
5. Acceptable media are two-dimensional works of: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel/colored pencil, and pen and ink/
charcoal, and mixed media. No computer art, photographs, sculptures, or reproductions.
6. Prohibited artwork: Any work executed in a class or under the instruction of an instructor; copies of paintings or published
photos; and improper subject matter.
7. The 2023 release will be a dry white wine, typically in a clear bottle. The capsule color & background color of the label will be determined to complement the art and bottle.
8. The final reproduced label size will be no smaller than 2.5” x 2.5” and may be a cropped portion from the original.
9. The winning artist will be expected to sell the original artwork reproduced on the wine label to Mallow Run Winery for potential hanging in the tasting room or The Sycamore at Mallow Run.

Winning Artist Award and Recognition

1. Artist’s name and artwork will have the honor of being featured on the label of the 2023 Artist Series wine.
2. Artist and artwork will be recognized on the Mallow Run Winery website (with link to artist website if available) and social media channels with 40,000+ followers.
3. If the winning artist is 21+, they will receive one case of the special wine (pick-up only).
