Invitations for art and craft submissions for the first iteration of Real Love Baby: Summer Fling are now open! Curators Lexi Musselman and Grif Williams are pleased to continue the Real Love Baby show series in this special summer edition. Artists living in Muncie and Indianapolis are highly encouraged to submit, but any Midwest artist is welcome to apply. The show will take place in a venue new to the Real Love Baby series- StorageSpace Gallery in Indianapolis, IN. 

Submissions must be placed through the online application form or emailed to reallovebabyshow@gmail.com. If applying via email, please use “Summer Fling Submission” in the subject line. Up to three pieces may be submitted per applicant. All mediums welcome; submissions must be received by Monday, June 19, 2023. Artists will be notified of their acceptance by the end of day on Saturday, June 25, 2023. Accepted works must be dropped off at StorageSpace Gallery, located at 121 E 34th Street no later than Thursday, July 13, 2023 at 8pm. Installation for video, performance, and intermedia work will be coordinated between the artist and curators prior to July 13th. The exhibition will be open to the public on July 16, 2023 with selected hours and events through Sunday, July 30, 2023. Artists may pick up their work no later than August 3, 2023. There is no submission fee, but there is a $5 suggested donation for accepted artists to assist with additional event costs. 

Lexi Musselman and Griffith Williams will be curating Real Love Baby: Summer Fling and anticipate future art shows as part of a larger project series. Musselman is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis where she holds her MA in Social Practice Arts. She is an artist herself and enjoys creating opportunities for local artists. Williams holds his BFA in photo and intermedia arts from Ball State University and is the programming coordinator for Death Factory, a time-based media art collective.
