Public Art Selection Committee: Call for Self-Nominations
The Arts Council of Indianapolis is seeking community members living in Indianapolis/Marion County who are interested in volunteering their time to serve on panels that will select artists or proposals for future public art. Community panelists will work alongside visual arts professionals, and will participate in influencing the course of public art in the city. The time commitment is estimated to be in three-hour blocks, most likely between the hours of 9 am and 5 pm, no more than two or three times a year.
If accepted, community panelists will remain in an “on call” pool for a three-year period and will be assigned to project selection panels based on the nature of each project and its match with the community representative’s knowledge and preferences. Selection panelists will receive about two months’ notice of a panel meeting.
Experience and/or a strong interest in one or more of the following subjects is desirable, but not required:
