Automotive Art Show 2016, Gallery Forty-Two

Indianapolis, IN

5/6 – 6/18

Memorial Day weekend 2016 marks a historic occasion for the city of Indianapolis. In 1911, the inaugural running of the Indianapolis 500 began a racing tradition spanning over 100 years. While 2011 marked the 100th anniversary of the race, due to two separate hiatuses for World Wars I & II, the 100th running of the Indy 500 will take place on May 29th of this year.

To celebrate this milestone running of the “greatest spectacle in racing,” Gallery Forty-Two is hosting an automotive/racing art showcase from Friday, May 6th through Saturday, June 18th that encompasses the spirt and history of this iconic racing tradition. The gallery will host an opening reception on the evening of May 6th.

Gallery Forty-Two is seeking artists to participate in the show and potentially make an appearance during the opening reception. Submissions may be in sculpture or painting, but must be original, contemporary pieces paying homage to the racing industry. Submissions must be received by Friday, April 8, 2016. General questions or submissions may be sent to Curt@GalleryFortyTwo.com.
