Artists are invited to submit their work for the 2nd annual exhibition of “Sculpture on the lawn”, an outdoor temporary collection to be displayed at the Orange County Administration Center located in heart of Downtown Orlando, Florida. Up to four sculptures will be selected for the exhibit, to be displayed from June 26, 2016 through May 30, 2017. Work will be sited on the Orange County Administration Lawn along Rosalind Avenue. One (1) of the four (4) sculptures will be selected from a student/emerging competition if possible.

This project is open to experienced professional sculptors and students who specialize in the design, construction and installation of outdoor sculptures.

Each artist will be awarded $3,500.00 as a loan fee and to help offset any necessary transportation, installation and/or housing costs. No other compensation will be provided. Orange County will not charge any commission on sales of sculptures and the transaction will be directly with artist or their agent. Sold sculptures may not be removed before June 1, 2017.

The sculpture should be created of material appropriate to an outdoor environment and must be of suitable construction that will last with minimal maintenance and be appropriate for public viewing. Orlando has a sub-tropical climate and is hot and humid with an intense sun and seasonal heavy rain. Problems with rust and fading should be avoided. Resistance to high-speed winds is important.
