General Grant Information:

The Arts Journalism Fellowship Program is a partnership with the Arts Council of Indianapolis and our media partner The Indianapolis Star (IndyStar) to promote and increase arts coverage. Launched in 2015 through a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts, the program continues in 2016-2017 as an Arts Council of Indianapolis signature initiative. As part of this program, Arts Journalism Fellows receive in-depth engagement with the arts community in Indianapolis as facilitated by staff of the Arts Council of Indianapolis, and in-depth journalism training as facilitated by staff of IndyStar.

The Arts Council of Indianapolis Arts Journalism Fellowship Program will award up to three (3) $2,000 fellowships to qualified and talented students (undergraduates and post-undergraduates) to research and write engaging articles or create content and videos on artists and arts organizations in music, dance, theatre, literature, media, and/or the visual arts. The fellowship program seeks to introduce and provide students with connections, and to build relationships with professional journalists and artists in central Indiana.
