Job Summary: 

Assist with the Indianapolis Art Center’s communications, marketing and publication needs – including copywriting, photography, web updates and all Art Center internal and external communications, in addition to assisting departments with marketing projects and budgets.

Essential Job Functions:

Communicate the Art Center’s mission in action for all departments and general organizational marketing, including managing social media, e-blasts, press releases, press relations, website and other duties as assigned

Assist internal departments in the successful completion of marketing projects within budget constraints and pre determined production schedules. 

Collaborate with Communications Department and other Art Center staff to develop and distribute marketing materials and further the Art Center’s programs, initiatives, and mission.

Additional Job Functions: 

  • Works with Director of Communications and Creative and Communications Manager to assess the communications and marketing efficacy of all internal and external marketing materials.
  • Provides content and manages social media, e-blasts, press releases and other marketing materials.
  • Continually evaluates the overall image and identity of the Art Center and develops creative concepts that reinforce that image and identity.
  • Coordinates production of printed materials by working with designers, printers and appropriate staff members. Establishes and works within budget. Publishes the department’s Production Schedule. Manages MarComm Database
  • Manages Art Center image and file database.

Competency Requirements (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):

This position relies on strong written and verbal communication.  Social media, knowledge of web applications and photography skills a plus. Experience in publications design and development preferred. 

Education and Experience: 

A combination of education, training and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism or appropriate experience.  

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

  • Individuals must be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Employee must be able to move freely about the work site and perform routine physical and manual tasks associated with the position including the ability to lift maximum of 25 pounds.
