Auditions for the Garfield Shakespeare Company’s production of “The Waverly Gallery” by Kenneth Lonergan take place NEXT WEEK, on Tuesday and Wednesday, August 30th and 31st at the Garfield Park Arts Center. Auditions will begin at 6:30pm. Please prepare a dramatic monologue of no more than 2 minutes, and also be prepared to read from the script. A powerfully poignant and often hilarious play, The Waverly Gallery is about the final years of a generous, chatty, and feisty grandmother’s final battle against Alzheimer’s disease.

Auditions will take place in the Garfield Park Arts Center in Indianapolis, IN on Tuesday, August 30th at 6:30 PM & Wednesday, August 31st at 6:30pm.

Performances will be Saturday, 11/5/2016 at 7:30pm; Sunday, 11/6/2016 at 3:00pm; and Monday, 11/7/2016 at 7:30pm. They are in talks with the Alzheimer’s Association about presenting a workshop and/or talkback about the show. More information can be found at gscindy.com as it becomes avilable.

Roles available:

GLADYS GREEN: A former lawyer and Greenwich Village activist. The play follows the development of Gladys’ Alzheimer’s. Late 60s – early 80s.

ELLEN FINE*: Gladys’ daughter, a psychiatrist. Late 40s – mid 50s.
*This role has been pre-cast.

DANIEL REED: Glady’s grandson, Ellen’s son. A speechwriter. Acts as a narrator, as in a memory play. Mid 20s – mid 30s.

HOWARD FINE: Ellen’s husband, Daniel’s step-father. Psychiatrist. Late 40s – mid 50s.

DON/DAWN BOWMAN: Painter and waiter from Lynn, MA. Anywhere from mid 20s or older. May be cast as a man or woman.
