Inspire Studio & Gallery announces upcoming workshops featuring Randall Scott Harden and John Michael Carter

Inspire Studio & Gallery, one of the premier artist galleries on Main Street in the heart of the Carmel Arts & Design District, is proud to offer workshops this fall with professional artists that can help you grow from novice to professional in your quest to create beautiful art for all to enjoy.

Inspire will be hosing the expert teachings of Randall Scott Harden and John Michael Carter this fall. But space is limited and true artists should act quickly to secure a spot in these wonderful workshops.

“There are many creative and competitive artists in our area who produce wonderful artistic images. We hope to embellish that creativity by bringing in some of the most respected artists today,” said Cathy Bauder, artist and owner of Inspire.

The artists include:

Randall Scott Harden – presenting Knife & Color Mixing on October 22, 10 am – 3 pm at the Inspire gallery.

An American artist, with a passion for painting, Randall Scott Harden dedicates his being to creating art – it is his lifestyle.  He sees the world through an artist’s eyes – as patterns of color, shapes, and light.  His strength lies in his ability to effortlessly create a timeless style with an essence of romance.  Whether having a glass of wine in Paris, or hiking in Tuscany, he is continually looking for that perfect balance of subject, atmosphere and hue…those things, combined with years of experience, which allow his brush to flow freely in expression of the moment.

At an early age, Randall felt the need to use art as a tool to interpret the world as he knew it.  With a gift of natural ability, he was tutored by local talent and continued to study throughout his life in workshops, museums, studios, and “en plein air” alongside his award winning peers. Today, he has a successful career bringing his vision to others through his paintings.

The cost is $150 and the class is from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

John Michael Carter, Painting Figures: Costumed Models, November 9, 10 & 11, 9-4:30 pm

John Michael Carter was born in Chicago. He showed an interest in drawing at an early age and began his studies at 15 with his father E. L. Carter, a commercial artist and illustrator. After graduation from high school he attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago. In 1970 Carter continued his studies at the Art Center College of Design in Los Angeles. There he studied the major classical schools of drawing and painting with Reynolds Brown, Harry Carmean , and Lorser Feitelson . He received his B.F.A. in 1972. Carter has had many shows in galleries all over the country. His wide range of subject matter covers landscapes, still life, figurative painting, and portraiture. His portraits include senators, governors, university presidents as well as corporate and civic leaders.

In addition to Carter’s love of figurative painting, he enjoys the street scenes and landscapes he discovers in his travels here and abroad. Mr.Carter has been a frequent guest instructor at art workshops across the country, including the Scottsdale Artist School since 1990, the Dallas Arts League and the Cincinnati Arts Club. His thorough classical training and experience in drawing and painting gives him the technical expertise for superb instruction. He is a master signature member of Oil Painters of America and serves on the board of directors of that organization.

Cost is $450, which includes all three days, from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
