Call to Central Indiana Visual Artists: Indianapolis Artsgarden Holiday Backdrop

The Indianapolis Artsgarden, owned and operated by the Arts Council of Indianapolis, has become a destination to view artwork, hear live music, experience spoken word and other performances, and get information about the arts and cultural events through the Cultural Concierge desk. Each December, the Artsgarden hosts the Mistletoe Music Festival showcasing the talent of middle and high school choirs, orchestras, and bands from central Indiana. This event along with the regular arts programing brings in thousands of visitors and families during the holiday season.

This year, the Artsgarden is looking to expand its holiday visitor experience by incorporating artwork that can serve as a backdrop for family photos and as an interactive selfie-station. All central Indiana visual artists are invited to submit images of their artwork to be reproduced on a large-scale vinyl banner that represents the holiday spirit in Indy. This theme is open to interpretation, but could relate to winter scenes of the city and related architectural icons or any image that Artsgarden visitors may wish to use as a photo backdrop.

Criteria:

  • non-denominational
  • appropriate for all ages
  • connection to the holiday/winter season in Indianapolis
