The Fan Fiction Reading Series, Vol. 1 (Call For Submissions)

The Geeky Press and Vouched Books Indy are teaming up for The Fan Fiction Reading Series, Vol. 1 on Friday, Oct. 28.

THEME: “The City on the Edge of Yesterday’s Enterprise”

WHAT: The Geeky Press and Vouched Books Indy love stories and poems. They love them a great deal. But they’ve also got a little nerd mixed in. And they really just can’t keep those two passions away from each other anymore. Stories inspire and connect us, and one way they do that which is often ignored is through fan fiction. So take the stories you love and do with them what you want. And join them as they host The Fan Fiction Readings Series, Vol. 1.

Readers will be selected from the best submissions for a night of fun and revelry.

WHEN: They’ll host a reading, drinking, and celebration at Metonymy Media on Friday, Oct. 28 from 6-8 pm. Your hosts will have on their very best Star Trek garb, which will include a few special additions. They encourage you to celebrate the Halloween season by joining the fun in your favorite costume or cosplay, but The Geeky Press & Vouched Books Indy welcomes all!

HOW: They want to select the best fan fiction stories from the local writing scene. If you’d like to be be considered, it’s easy. Just email your submissions to submit@thegeekypress.com by Friday, Oct 21 in order to be considered for inclusion in the event.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: They’re looking for your best (or you know, they’re open to your worst) Fan Fiction writing. They’re open to any genre of writing, and are not particularly tied to any particular fiction genre. Harry Potter your thing? Great. Star Trek? They dig it. You do you. And they’d like you to keep your submissions to less than 2,000 words (give or take).

And if poems are more your poison, they’re accepting those, too. Keep your poem or poems to five pages.
