Saturday School Instructor

Position Description

The Herron Community Learning Programs are seeking multiple temporary part-time employees to instruct Saturday School classes this spring. The ideal candidates will have previous experience instructing minors (grades 3-8), be highly motivated, reliable and have great interpersonal communication skills. Duties include:

Serving as lead instructor to a Saturday School course.

Working with the Program Coordinator to create lesson plans from existing course outlines.

Providing a safe, fun and active learning environment for youth.

Working on Saturday Afternoons, from Noon-5 for 8 consecutive weeks.

About the Program

Saturday School is a community arts program for youth in the Indianapolis Metropolitan area and serves grades 3-12 for 8 weeks each fall and spring. The program is part of the Herron School of Art and Design’s Community Learning Programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Visual Art or Design discipline.

Previous experience instructing minors.

Must be able to pass a background check.

Hourly compensation: $10.15 – $15, dependent on experience and qualifications
