Garfield Park Arts Center Seeks Women Artists for Politics & Protest Exhibition

Hoosier Women in Art Exhibition: Politics & Protest

This year, Garfield Park Arts Center will continue it’s annual Hoosier Women in Art exhibition this year to coincide with May Day. Local women will share their talents, their stories, and a part of themselves with a focus on the theme “politics & protest.” Acceptable media include, but are not limited to: paintings, watercolors, drawings, digital art, collage, mixed media, photography, assemblage, sculpture, ceramics, mosaics, and fabric art.

The exhibition will be on display May 6 – 27, 2017. Female artists are invited to create and submit 2-3 original works of art for this exhibition.  There is no cost to submit.

Requirements:

  • Original 2-D works must be no larger than 48″ x 60.” Freestanding work must not exceed 72″ in height or 50 lbs. All works must be ready to hang or install upon arrival. If shipped, work must include return shipping.
  • Please indicate your desire to participate in the show by emailing Megan Fetter at megan.fetter@indy.gov by April 1, 2017 or mail a portfolio to the Garfield Park Arts Center. Please include your name, address, phone number, email, and a brief description of your work and a short bio. Please also include the samples of your work you intend to submit for the exhibition, either attached to the email or on a CD.
  • Artists will be notified of all decisions no later than Saturday, April 15, 2017.
  • All works must be delivered to the arts center no later than Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 4 p.m.
  • The GPAC is a family friendly venue, so all work must be venue appropriate.
