Vernon’s Labor Day Festival of the Arts is looking for seasoned artists to display, demonstrate, and/or sell their art. The festival also includes an art contest for all ages.

Vernon was the home of the famous artist T.C. Steele. As part of the contest they are looking for “scenes of Vernon” for a specific Mayor’s Award.

Contest Information

4 Divisions will be judged on Saturday at 2:00 on the courthouse square.

 Fine Arts—Painting and Drawing

 Folk Art—Black Smithing, Quilting, Weaving

 Photography

 Youth Art

• Ages 12 and under
• Ages 13 to 18

There will be 3 overall awards for Mayor’s Choice, Vernon Heritage (scenes of Vernon) and Peoples Choice and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd choice within each category

Contest Guidelines

1. Artists must register in advance and have their worked stamped at the entry booth to participate in the contest.
2. Unstamped work will not be judged.
3. Submit up to 3 works of art for judging. Additional pieces may be entered for $5 per artwork.
4. Failure to honor contest guidelines or follow historic site staff directives, may disqualify an artist from participating in judging.
