12th Annual IDADA Membership Exhibition Call for Submissions

IDADA (Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association) is pleased to invite you to submit artwork for the 12th Annual IDADA Membership Exhibition. This juried exhibition showcases the quality and diverse talents of our members and will be the final show for IDADA. This year’s exhibition will be hosted by the Circle City Industrial Complex, in the Schwitzer Gallery, located at 1125 Brookside Ave., Indianapolis, Indiana, from Thursday, November 2rd, through Sunday, November 19th.

Exhibition Criteria:
IDADA invites all current members to submit for the juried. Artists whose works are juried into the exhibition are expected to transport their work to and from the venue.

• 3-D work should be no larger than 48”L x 48”W x 72”H
• 2-D work should be no larger than 48” x 60”
• 2-D work must be dry, wired, and ready to hang.
• 2-D work must include a label on the back with the artist’s information and title.
• Works must have been made within the past two years.

Submission for IDADA members is free. Any IDADA member in good standing as of August 9th, 2017, is eligible. All proposals and supporting materials must be emailed by Saturday, September 30th at 11:59pm to IDADAinfo@gmail.com Emailed entries should have the words “IDADA Membership Exhibition” in the subject line. Any entry received after this date may not be considered for the exhibition.

Artwork Sales:
Artists receive 100% of all sales and all transactions will go directly through the artist. NFS work is acceptable to enter. Upon drop-off of artwork (Friday, October 27th, 5- 7p, Saturday, October 28th, noon to 3p, Sunday, October 29th, noon to 3p), each exhibiting artist will sign an artist’s agreement for the exhibition, provided by IDADA. Any unsold artwork will be available for pick up on Friday, November 17th, 5-7p, and Saturday, November 18th, noon to 3p.

Awards:
Four artworks will be awarded with prizes, their places assigned by the juror. Awards will be given for First Place, Second Place, and for Third Place. Additionally, three Honorable Mentions will be named.

Selection Process:
IDADA has invited guest juror Sandy Gooding, of Corporate Fine Art Group, to choose which artists will participate. Artists whose work is chosen for the exhibit will be notified of their acceptance and the exhibition staff will coordinate the schedule for the delivery of the work. If accepted, additional information may be requested. Notification of the selection results will be emailed by October 15th.

About the Juror:
Sandy Gooding is the owner of Corporate Fine Art Group, and has been promoting visual arts, and consulting for the corporate, healthcare, and hospitality industries in the US, Canada, and Puerto Rico. She has worked in publishing art, online sales, retail gallery management, and international procurement, and has served as a representative, mentor, curator, and designer while working with artists for decades. Locally, she has been alliances with Art With A Heart, ASID, the IMA and the Indianapolis Art Center.

About the Venue:
This year’s Membership Exhibition will be located in the Schwitzer Gallery, on the second floor of the Circle City Industrial Complex, 1125 Brookside Ave., generously provided by Teagan. The CCIC has become one of the latest go-to stops on the IDADA First Friday Art Tour, with many artist galleries and studio spaces located throughout the building. The CCIC also has a large parking lot available and has a stop on the Brookside Trail, and extension of the Cultural Trail that runs through downtown.

Located at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and 10th Street, the Circle City Industrial Complex (CCIC) spans nearly a half mile and contains more than 540,000 square feet of office, industrial, warehousing, and studio space.

In an email, please submit the following:

• A completed Submission Form
• Up to 3 digital images (JPG files only) for up to 3 works. A web link to video work or a DVD may be mailed to IDADA with your materials if you are presenting video and/or sound works. If submitting a work that will need special technology (computer, monitor, DVD player, sound equipment with headphones, etc.), please be prepared to provide the equipment.
• Corresponding image list using the following specifications:
  • Digital images should be no larger than 100 dpi
  • Digital image files should be labeled 001, 002, 003, followed by the submitting artist’s first then last name. (Example: 001johndoe.jpg, 002johndoe.jpg, etc.
