 CALL FOR ENTRIES

The Common Grounds Project
Common Grounds, Eskenazi Hall at Herron School of Art and Design
October 12 through December 4, 2017

OPEN TO HERRON & IUPUI STUDENTS ONLY

Common Grounds is a non-traditional exhibition space located in the common area inside the New York Street entrance of Eskenazi Hall.  Artwork will be displayed on the grey pedestal beside the Berkshire, Reese and Paul Galleries.  The Common Grounds Project seeks artwork that uses public space to engage audiences in an interdisciplinary, collaborative or conceptual way. While artworks do not have to be interdisciplinary, collaborative or conceptual, these approaches are highly encouraged.  One artwork will be selected for each exhibition period according to the quality of the work, concurrence with the Common Grounds vision and rationale for exhibiting within a public space.

  • Artwork will be displayed on a pedestal measuring 97 inches by 75 inches and should fit appropriately within this space
  • Preference will be given to submissions that address how the artwork fits within a public, non-gallery space
  • Preference will be given to submissions that use an interdisciplinary, collaborative or conceptual approach
