MTSU Seeks Spoken Word/Performance Artists for Event

Spoken Word/Performance Art Open call

The Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) Todd Art Gallery will be hosting a Spoken Word Performance and Video event on Saturday, February 24, 2018.  The Department of Art and Design is now accepting proposals from students, emerging, and mid-career artists whose art practice is concerned with performance, text, and spoken word. The performances will be scheduled between 11-2 pm on the 24, around the Todd Building on MTSU’s campus, with videos playing on monitors concurrently.

Performances should relate indirectly or directly to text, communication, education, socio-economic inequities, literacy, or spoken word.

Proposals should include your project description, duration of performance or video and technical requirements. Submissions are free.

  • Proposal
  • Artist statement
  • 5 images of recent work with a short description of the project or hyperlinks to your videos or performances on YouTube or Vimeo
