The Poor People’s Campaign:  A National Call for Moral Revival is a movement to unite tens of thousands of people across the country to challenge the evils of systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation, and the nation’s distorted morality. Based on Dr. Martin Luther King’s Poor People’s Campaign of 1968, this modern take addresses current problems related to inequality, power, and class.

The Indiana group is looking for a visual artist to volunteer to lead its Visual Arts Committee, helping to organize, reprint and maintain silkscreened canvas flags and banners.  The artwork for the banners and other campaign artwork has already been designed and provided by the national office.  An artist with silkscreen printing experience is needed to lead volunteers and add sticks to banners.

This is a great volunteer opportunity for a printmaker or designer with free time and an interest in social justice work.  If interested, please attend the next recruitment meeting in Indianapolis on Saturday, April 28, Northwood Christian Church, 4550 Central Ave, Indianapolis 46205, from 2:00 – 4:30 p.m.
