Art Beat Exhibition

August 3 – 25

Exhibit Overview

Hip-Hop and Street Art. Jazz and Cubism. There is a longtime history of music inspiring art movements and artists. Explore the harmonious relationship between visual art and music in our August exhibit. Curated in partnership with community organization, The Learning Tree, this exhibit will tell stories of Indianapolis’ cultural music scene through the visual arts. View the influence that music has on local Indiana artists and how artwork has influenced music in return. Artwork inspired by music, created to music, or depicting music will show the intersection between the two mediums.

Any artists with work that fits the theme of this exhibition is encouraged to apply. Please see requirements and guidelines below. Artists can submit their artwork and supplemental information to GPAC@Indy.Gov. Deadline to submit is by end-of-day on July 16th. Artists will be notified shortly after the deadline. All artwork must be dropped off to GPAC no later than July 28th. Artwork for this show will be curated by a selection committee from GPAC and The Learning Tree.
