This two-week summer program is perfect for high school students interested in exploring the arts as possible college and/or career options. ArtForce has two groups: visual arts and performing arts. Both groups will take place at Ivy Tech Community College’s North Meridian Campus.

Both groups are led by professional teaching artists with Arts for Learning. Guest artists and speakers come from the broader arts community and from Ivy Tech faculty. Participants will get experience in a variety of techniques and skills related to the artform, build on their portfolios, work with other students passionate about the arts, and learn how Art can be used to speak to a social issue. This year’s social issue focus: how media affects image. The summer program finishes with a display of visual artwork and a short theatrical performance created by the students.

Upon completion of the two-week summer program, students receive a stipend. Throughout the rest of the year, Arts for Learning often hires previous participants to work at special events side by side with their administrative staff, or with their professional teaching artists.
