Figures of Speech Exhibition Seeks Artwork

All artists in the Midwest are invited to enter the Anderson Museum of Art’s 8th annual FIGURES OF SPEECH competitive exhibition. memorable and interesting works of art. Figures of Speech is a competitive exhibition open to artists 18 years of age or older who live, or have once lived, in the Midwest and created artwork.

Below are just a few examples:

Alliteration: “She sells seashells”
Euphemisms: “A little thin on the top”
Hyperboles: “I’ve told you a hundred times” or “It cost a billion dollars”
Metaphors: “Heart of stone” or “The world is a stage”
Oxymoron: “Jumbo shrimp” or “Small crowd”
Simile: “Like peas in a pod” or “As wise as an owl”

Digital entries due no later than July 8th.
