Hamilton East Public Library is accepting applications internally and externally for a full-time (40 hrs. per week) Ignite Studio Program Lead. Must be available to work a flexible schedule (some nights and weekends will be required). The hiring range for this position is $15.00-$17.00 per hour.

Ignite Studio is a 15,000 sq ft, arts-focused makerspace that offers patrons free use of a variety of maker equipment and supplies. This position will provide customer service, program facilitation, and administrative assistance in support of library services and programs, especially as related to the Ignite Studio makerspace. Ability to learn and feel comfortable with emerging technologies is a plus. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide a high level of customer service to Ignite Studio patrons.
  • Participate in Ignite strategic planning and visioning process in alignment with the library’s mission.
  • Assist the Ignite manager in leading the collaborative developmental process of maker experiences and programs in coordination with Ignite staff.
  • Infuse formal and informal educational tactics across makerspace experiences.
  • Oversee the structured program planning process for Ignite programs in alignment with the Engagement team.
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of maker kits and drop-in activities.
  • Coordinate Ignite calendar of events and marketing in collaboration with communications team.
  • Advise Ignite Studio manager and assistant manager on staffing requirements.
  • Assist the Ignite manager in building and maintaining community partnerships and artist relations.
  • Performs all other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum one year previous experience with public programming, STEAM education, and/or art education is required.
  • Experience with technical equipment available in Ignite Studio is preferred.

Technical – Proficiency in using computers and related software; experience with library management system software, including cataloging systems and public interface systems.
