Director Bobbi Van Howe announces auditions for her upcoming Carmel Community Players holiday show: The Very Merry Xmas Carol Holiday Adventure Show.

AUDITIONS:

Sunday, October 20, 7pm – 9pm at CCP Warehouse, 510 SW 3rd Avenue, Carmel, 46032

Monday, October 21, 7pm – 9pm at CCP Warehouse, 510 SW 3rd Avenue, Carmel, 46032

Please come prepared to read from the script.

Cast List

Narrator – Sits on stage in comfortable armchair. Reads from Giant book of Christmas Stories. Cheery, except when lonely. Has a deficiency when relating to people, but as a story teller, he’s TOP NOTCH. Stage Age 35-60

Ebenezer Scrooge – Straight from the pages of “A Christmas Carol”. Old Scrooge is a cantankerous miser with no love for you or me. Or that guy over there. And he hates Christmas. Stage Age 45-60

Rudolph Reindeer – A meek, gentle member of the Reindeer Clan who hides from the shadow cast by his own nose. Rudolph is tender and free with his emotions. Deep down he simply misses his reindeer pals, even though they used to laugh and call him names. Rudolph has an excellent sense of direction and a nose that glows Cherry Red. Stage Age 25-45

Frosty the Snowman – Born out of a war-torn Tundra, this hardened man of snow has learned to survive the toughest terrain and trouble. Frosty is an outdoors mans, a survivor, and carries many high-tech gadgets to aid him in his travels. He has taken to wearing Winter-Camo pants.

Stage Age 30-50

*Bob Cratchitt – Scrooge’s meek employee. Stage Age – 35-50

*Bob Marley – Ghost of Bob Marley, dreadlocks and all, chained to a steel drum, comes to bring Scrooge some hopeful jams.

Stage Age 15-25

*Jacob Marley – Scrooge’s more traditional Ghostly Business Partner, comes to do the usual haunting and warnings.

Stage Age 40-60

*Fred – Scrooge’s Nephew – Straight from “A Christmas Carol”

Sage Age 35-50

*Big Tree- An aged and wise (and shedding) Christmas Tree, complete with working lights. His pine needles may be wilting and he may be missing a few a few bulbs, but he’s still got it. He can see the future. Stage Age 40-50

*Little Drummer Boy – Completely mad, skulking servant of the evil XMAS Anti-Christmas Force. He does love his drum. He likes to make fun of people. Growing up too fast made him rotten to the core. Stage Age 20-40

*Ma Broombucket – Poverty stricken English woman with a ridiculous Cockney accent. Stage Age 40-50

*Alfred Broombucket – Poor young son, similar ridiculous accent. Stage Age 12-18

*CHRISTMAS MAN – Flashy, gaudy Purveyor of Super Exciting Christmas Spirit!!!Shiny Red Clothes. Talks like a Game Show Host. Stage Age 35-40

*Lord Candy Kane – Aged Militant King of Candy Cane Kingdom. Candy Cane Robe, Candy Cane Beard, has a mean Super Candy Cane Dance of Power, but can barely bring himself to do it. Stage Age 50-65

*Ghost of Christmas Future- Future, Dark and Eerie figure in a long black cloak speaks only in whispers and rasps. Has cunningly avoided destruction of London Town and now stalks Scrooge. Eager to show him his doom. Stage Age Any Face is never seen and voice is rasps and whispers

Twig – Tree’s voice from off stage

Herbie – Elf in charge of communication. Heard from off stage or pre-recorded

Sugar Plum Fairies – Handful of fairies to aid in the Audience Participation
