 Indianapolis, IN, 46204

The Indiana Arts Commission (IAC) is issuing a Call for Submissions to Indiana-based individuals or teams interested in designing and fabricating the 2020 Governor’s Arts Awards.

BUDGET: $7,000 (for 7 awards)

ELIGIBILITY: Visual artists based in or living in Indiana

DEADLINE: December 1, 2019

Project Description:

Seven awards will be created. Five will be presented to awardees, one will remain with the Indiana Arts Commission, and one will remain with the Office of the Governor. Awards should be of durable material and be of an appropriate size and weight to be awarded on stage as part of a public event.  It is our preference that the awards include an interactive or technology assisted element (e.g., illumination, kinetic), but it is not required.

Timeline:

  • Request for Submissions Deadline: December 1, 2019, 5:00 p.m. Eastern time
  • Submission Review: December 2019
  • Selection notification: January 2020
  • Awards delivered to Indiana Arts Commission offices in Indianapolis: September 2020
  • Governor’s Arts Awards Ceremony: October 2020

Selection Process:

The selection committee will review submissions on the basis of design merit; feasibility; and the extent to which the submission is suitable as a statewide award.  The recommended submission will be forwarded to the Office of the Governor for final selection.

What to Submit:

Individuals or teams interested in making a submission to design and fabricate the 2020 Governor’s Arts Awards should provide a submission packet containing the following:

  3. Three professional references.
  4. Examples of previous work:  Up to 10 digital images, links or websites that provide examples of previous experience.
