Auditions for Fonseca Theatre Company’s production of Salt Pepper Ketchup

Auditions will be held Monday December 2nd beginning at 5pm at 2508 W Michigan Street.

About the show: When a trendy food co-op opens near Superstar Chines Take-Out, the Wu’s and their customers initially see it as a hipster annoyance. But tensions mount as they begin to recognize the intrusion as an act of war and part of the gentrification consuming the Point Breeze neighborhood in South Philly. Tinged with genuine humor and pathos, Salt Pepper Ketchup examines the very human consequences of neighborhood redevelopment.

Rehearsals will begin the week of December 23rd, with holidays off, and performances run from January 17th – February 2nd.

They are looking for 6 Men and 3 Women in the following breakdown:

  • RAHEEM-20’s, Tommy’s friend. African-American. (double cast as police officer)
  • JOHN WU- 40s, Owner of Superstar Chinese-American Takeout. Determined. Chinese-American.
  • LINDA WU- 40s, John’s wife. Tired. Chinese-American.
  • TOMMY-20’s, A CEO in disguise. Resentful. African-American.
  • CECE- 30’s, John’s favorite customer. Resourceful. African-American.
  • PAUL- 20’s. New to the neighborhood. Overbearing. Hipster
  • BOODAH- A goon with a peculiar spirit. African-American
  • MEGAN- 20’s, New to the neighborhood. Perky. Hipster (double cast as police officer)
