Indy Pod Theatre Seeks Scripts

 Indianapolis, IN, Unknown

Indy Pod Theater is looking for 3-4 full-length scripts to produce in 2020

What is Indy Pod Theater?

IPT is a series of live, fully cast readings of work by Indiana playwrights, recorded for podcast.

What is IPT looking for?

Full-length scripts by Indiana writers. All submissions should be audio friendly and not visually intensive, since the plays will be primarily heard via podcast. Cast size (ideally five actors or less) is also a factor, since the plays will be read and recorded in an intimate space. New work and previously produced plays will be considered, provided that the playwright grants permission for a live reading, recording and podcasting.

What is the fee to submit?

Zero dollars and zero cents.

How does submission work?

Send a copy of your script to Receipt will be acknowledged but only those selected for production and podcasting will receive further word.

How will shows be selected?

From the plays submitted, Indy Pod Theatre and an independent panel will select up to four plays for production.

Why Indy Pod Theater?

IPT is designed to meet four primary challenges:

  • Creating dynamic, intimate theater offerings to audiences at a low cost while providing paid work to local talent.
  • Opening doors to new audiences by providing opportunities for anyone with a web connection to experience plays on their own time.
  • Providing a unique opportunity for Indiana playwrights to showcase their work for potential producers. In the past they could only show a script. Now they can offer a script and professionally produced podcast to interested parties.
  • Developing a recorded record of work that would otherwise disappear at the final curtain.
