Exhibition Description: Craftivism is an art-form that fuses art, craft, and action. This broad definition creates endless opportunities for artists to innovative solutions to today’s biggest cultural, structural, and societal issues. At its best, craftivists use their work to build community, give voice, challenge systems of oppression, and demonstrate tangible outcomes. Craftivism is far more than making for the sake of making. It is making for the sake of systemic change.

Open to women-identified and non-binary artists living or working in the United States, Woman Made Gallery is inviting artwork in any media that focuses on the message to engage the broader community with the intend to effect change.

All entries should include a brief theme-related statement (max. 250 words.) They like to receive entries of recent works, but there is no restriction in the creation date. Accepted artworks must not exceed 72″ horizontally and must not have been previously shown at WMG.
