Early Career Public Outdoor Art

CALL FOR PROPOSALS

Let the Hoosier Village community experience and support your creativity.

The Hoosier Village Arts Council seeks proposals for public art for display outdoors on the Hoosier Village Campus.

THE COMMUNITY. Hoosier Village is a community of some 500 seniors in Zionsville, Indiana. Hoosier Village makes this call so that residents can experience the creativity expressed through installations of public art, and can also encourage the creativity of early career artists. To that end, Hoosier Village seeks proposals from early career artists for already completed or yet to be developed works of public art for outdoor display at selected sites on their 300 acre campus.

THEIR OFFER. Hoosier Village will make a grant of $1,500 to the artist upon delivery of the work to the campus, in exchange for the privilege of displaying the work on the campus for a period of not fewer than 12 months.
Throughout the period of display, the work will be accessible for viewing by prospective purchasers or interested viewers from outside the Hoosier Village community.

YOUR PROPOSAL. Your proposal must include a written description and photographs or drawings of the piece being proposed, the artist’s resume, and the following information about the work:

  • Physical dimensions
  • Materials used in its construction, including all coatings that may be applied
  • Any special requirements for installation,
  • Date the work will be available for installation.

Hoosier Village reserves the right to accept any or all proposals submitted.

PROPOSALS ARE DUE not later than June 1, 2020. Additional calls will be made at dates to be determined.

PROPOSALS SHOULD BE TRANSMITTED BY E-MAIL TO Hoosier Village Arts Council Chair, David G. Ruffer at mdruffer@aol.com, also the address to which questions should also be directed.
