The Harrison Center wants to encourage beauty and creativity in this time. As many of their community members are isolated and lonely, especially older neighbors, they are organizing a community yarn flower Installation, which will be installed on the fence along the Monon Trail for walkers to appreciate.

Two ways to participate:

1. Make a single flower petal. The Harrison Center will assemble all of the petals into gigantic flowers. They are mailing yarn, crochet needles, and instructions to any community members who are interested in participating as long as supplies last.  You may also use whatever acrylic yarn you have on hand. They can follow instructions to use this time to work on crochet petals, which they will then collect.

2. Create as many flowers as you would like!

You use any flower pattern you like, but the flowers need to be large ( at least 4 inches across) . Both knitted and crocheted flowers will be accepted, but please use only use acrylic yarn. We have acrylic yarn available for those who need it as long as supplies last.

The hope is to collect many petals and flowers to create a large yarn flower garden installation, and that this will remind you that you are part of something larger.
