The Ball State Department of Theatre and Dance is growing and changing. They offer eight diverse curricular options that develop and nurture each student’s creativity, curiosity, and collaborative skills. They inspire their students to be thinkers, responsible citizens, and motivated artists who will make a difference in creating the next generation’s voice.

They currently serve over 500 majors in the department. The bachelor of arts/bachelor of science (BA/BS) in theatre offers several different curricular programs including the directing and stage management options. This curricular option is an undergraduate-only, pre-professional training program within a liberal arts education. The program is rooted in experiential learning allowing you numerous opportunities to get hands-on experience throughout our dynamic and diverse production season from the moment you arrive on campus. You will be exposed to diverse concepts and worldviews while honing your collaborative, artistic, and managerial skills on a variety of plays, musicals, dance pieces, and new works.

The production stage manager position facilitates as both the primary teacher to all the stage management students while also serving as the facilitator, coordinator, collaborative visionary, and organizational guru of the Department’s active and robust twenty show season.
