In partnership with Broward Sheriff’s Office, Broward Cultural Division’s Public Art & Design Program is seeking to commission one or more artists to transform multiple exterior locations within the Broward Sheriff’s Office Public Safety Complex located in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The selected artist(s) will design unique artworks that visually enhance the neighborhood in which the facility is located, engage visitors, employees, and passersby, thematically convey the Broward Sheriff’s Office’s mission to provide safety and security for all residents of Broward County, and its commitment to working side by side with the community.

BUDGET:  $410,000 (for two projects total; can be the same or different artists)

ELIGIBILITY:  Professional artists over 18 living in the United States

The Broward Sheriff’s Office is constructing a new, cutting-edge, training center within the Public Safety Complex located at 2601 West Broward Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL.  The two story, 90,000 square foot Training Center sits atop a five-story parking facility, also to be constructed.  The Training Center will be an expansive state-of-the-art facility to address today’s public safety processes. WHAT TO SUBMIT

  2. Electronic Images – Submit 10 digital images of relevant work. Artists are encouraged to submit work samples that best illustrate their qualifications for this opportunity. All images must be saved using a file name and number that corresponds to the Annotated Image List (see below). Each digital image must feature a single work.
  3. Annotated Image List – Include name of artist, title of work, year, media, size, and location of artwork and/or project, project budget, image number and any other relevant information.
