SPECIFICATIONS: Part-time, hourly position; Approximately 10-12 hours/week, free parking

REPORTS TO: Director of Operations

ORGANIZATION:  Indianapolis Ballet, Inc. d/b/a Indianapolis School of Ballet www.indyballet.org

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Indianapolis School of Ballet is looking for a motivated and detailed oriented person to manage the front desk and to perform a variety of administrative and clerical tasks.  Be a part of a small team that advances professional ballet and dance education in central Indiana.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Greet and welcome guests as soon as they arrive.
  • Answer, screen and forward incoming phone calls.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary materials.
  • Receive, sort and distribute daily mail/deliveries.
  • Perform miscellaneous office responsibilities and projects as assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School degree.
  • Customer service attitude.
  • Ability to be resourceful and proactive when issues arise.
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel and Word).
  • Knowledge of Studio Director preferred.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

CONTENT OF CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION:  Will have access to confidential programming and marketing plans, organizational financial information, staff and student biographical information.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time to conduct daily business operations.  Position also requires the hearing and visual acuity to converse with internal and external constituents in person, over the phone, and via electronic communication with or without reasonable accommodation.

SUPERVISION:  Reports to the Director of Operations but must have the ability to work independently and make sound decisions with a high level of autonomy.
