City of Austin / Art in Public Places (AIPP) seeks artists and artist teams for AIPP’s 2021-2023 Pre-Qualified Artist Pool. Project opportunities will be available with city departments such as Austin Parks and Recreation, Austin Public Library, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and more.

BUDGET: Varies per project, $30,000 – $500,000+

ELIGIBILITY: Artists and teams over 18 living in the U.S. and its territories

Two virtual artist information meetings for this call will be held on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18 and THURSDAY, DECEMBER 10, 2020, from 6 to 7 p.m CST. ** Sign up at the AIPP website.  Recordings of the meetings will be posted.

The purpose of the Pre-Qualified Artist Pool is to provide a streamlined application and selection process for artists and artist teams interested in being commissioned for public art projects through the City of Austin Art in Public Places Program. Program staff and the Art in Public Places Panel will utilize the Pre-Qualified Pool, in whole or in part, for commission opportunities based on project timeline, scope, previously identified project outcomes, and/or a highly specialized field of opportunity. The list of artists and artist teams in the Pool will also be made available to private developers and other public art commissioning entities for their use. All artists and artist teams in the Pool remain eligible for contract opportunities for a minimum of a two-year period.
