Expo 2020 Seeks Artists for U.S. Pavilion

As part of the Global Ties U.S. nationwide network, The International Center is looking for Hoosiers to represent Indiana and America at the U.S. Pavilion at Expo 2020 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).

What is the Expo 2020 Dubai?

Running October 1, 2021 through March 31, 2022, Expo 2020 Dubai is set to be the largest event of any kind held in the Arab World with 192 participating countries and approximately 25 million visitors from across the globe. Throughout the six months of Expo, the U.S. Pavilion will host a variety of cultural performers to showcase American cultural diversity and innovation across disciplines including but not limited to music, dance, theatre, literature, film, cuisine, and sport.

Cultural Performer details:

Performers will be expected to participate in a minimum of four performance engagements during a five- to seven-day period in Dubai. Funding for this opportunity includes the following:

  • Round-trip international, economy class travel from city of origin to Dubai. All flights must follow U.S. Government regulations
  • Per diem to cover meals, incidentals, and expenses for the contracted period including travel days. Additional days, beyond program needs are not reimbursable. Per diem funds are non-taxable
  • Ground transportation to/from Dubai International Airport
  • Accommodations in Dubai during your contracted period. Group members may be required to share a hotel room with another performer of the same gender
  • Honorarium will be determined at the time of selection and may not be applicable to all performers. Honorarium will NOT exceed $300/day per performer. USG employees may not be eligible to receive honorarium
  • Extra baggage fees for equipment and accessories related to performance(s). All baggage must comply with UAE Customs Regulations and Laws
  • Please note that performers will be selected on a rolling basis and Global Ties U.S. reserves the right to close the nomination form prior to the March 15, 2021 deadline.
