Arts for Learning

Arts for Learning engages children with the arts by bringing teaching artists into schools and communities. We believe in the arts and their ability to transform education. We believe that when learning is enriched with the arts, students get more out of school.

Arts for Learning offers programs in various forms – including performances, hands-on workshops, and in-depth residencies. Our programs connect the arts with the curriculum to supplement learning.

Our programs occur wherever learning takes place, including afterschool programs, libraries, community centers, juvenile detention facilities, and hospitals.

Henry Ford: Fit to a "T" by Hank Fincken

Program description

He didn’t invent the automobile; he invented the automobile industry.  His $5 a day wage made the working class middle class.  In this one-man play, Ford dealers from all over the country have come to Detroit to learn about the man’s latest life-changing car, the Ford V-8.  Was he a saint?  Hardly, but his work continues to influence us all as much as any pioneer in US History.
