Playing with Light: An Artist's Journey (online)

Presented by Center for the Performing Arts at Online/Virtual Space

Arlon Bayliss will describe his journey as an artist working with light, from his early work as a glass artist to his public art commissions. Trained at the Royal College of Art in London, he spent over 20 years designing glass for factories in Germany, Italy and the United States, and his glass artwork is in museum collections worldwide. His public art projects include large-scale indoor installations at the Indianapolis Central Library, Indianapolis Hebrew Congregation, Indianapolis International Airport and Circle Centre Mall. He also has created several outdoor artworks for the City of Carmel.

Luminaries is a weekday series that meets at 2 p.m. on the fourth Tuesday of every other month for presentations about the Center’s programming and the performing arts in general. This presentation will take place live via Zoom from Bayliss’ studio.
