Time: 6:30 pm-8:30 pm

What is Contemporary Romance? Are you thinking you’d like to write one? With humor and insight, USA Today bestselling authors Nan Reinhardt and Liz Flaherty share their experiences  of how they went from the blank page to a completed novel. They’ll help steer you in the right direction with tips on discovery, setting, characterization, and voice. In this two-hour workshop, Nan and Liz will answer questions and offer suggestions on getting started writing contemporary romance.

About the Instructors:

Nan Reinhardt is a USA Today bestselling author of romantic fiction for Tule Publishing. Her day job is working as a freelance copyeditor and proofreader, however, writing is Nan’s first and most enduring passion. She can’t remember a time in her life when she wasn’t writing—she wrote her first romance novel at the age of ten and is still writing, but now from the viewpoint of a wiser, slightly rumpled, post-menopausal woman. Nan lives in the Midwest with her husband of 47 years, where they split their time between a house in the city and a cottage on a lake.

Retired from the post office, Liz Flaherty spends non-writing time sewing, quilting, and wanting to travel. The author of 20-some books, Liz and her husband Duane share an old farmhouse in North Central Indiana that they talk about leaving. However, that would require clearing baseball trophies from the attic and dusting the pictures of the Magnificent Seven, their grandchildren, so they’ll probably stay where they are.
