From Jon Crabiel:
During the pandemic, I have so missed performing – with ensembles, groups, and friends. It is coming back… slowly. And I can’t wait. During this performing downtime, I wanted to take the time to learn new music. This music inspires me to listen, to be creative, to explore and to learn. I hope you will enjoy this music too.
Also, inspired by my son to perform a solo recital this semester (he told me I had to), this performance will feature new music for percussion by brilliant composers including:
Molly Joyce’s Purity solo for vibraphone and 5 cymbals, Casey Cangelosi’s A Cool Gadget for solo tambourine and prerecorded audio, and Gene Koshinski’s SyNc, a solo snare drum piece that incorporates a kalimba, chopsticks, and a marble.
This event is exclusively virtual and will have no in-person availability to the public.
