Join the Indiana Wind Symphony for their 2020-2021 season finale, “Moonlight Fantasy,” featuring eclectic music that ranges from John Philip Sousa to the Beatles.
The Indiana Wind Symphony closes out its 2020-2021 season with an eclectic musical mix and the presentation of the James B. Calvert Outstanding Music Educator Award, as well as presenting the Bob Day Award to the outstanding member of the IWS.
The ensemble welcomes two guest conductors: Lissa Fleming May, this year’s award recipient, and Jay Gephart, Director of Bands at Purdue University. Music by two female composers will take center stage, and audiences will enjoy selections that range from John Philip Sousa to the Beatles. There’s even a musical nod to the architect whose work inspired the Palladium, which is particularly special as this year marks the 10th anniversary for the Indiana Wind Symphony to perform at the venue.
James Barnes’ Fantasy Variations on a Theme of Paganini marks the end of the show and the 2020-2021 season. This is sure to be a fantastical finale for an unprecedented year in the arts, and the Indiana Wind Symphony looks forward to welcoming you to their last concert of the season.
