Join panelists Dr. James C. Anyike, Anthony Conley, and James Webb, and moderator Tammy L. Cooper for a Zoom conversation on the history of Juneteenth and why it is so important to celebrate and honor the holiday.

Dr. James C. Anyike, Lead Servant/Pastor of Scott United Methodist Church in Indianapolis, Indiana

Anthony Conley, Professor in the History Department at Ivy Tech Community College

James Webb, Founder of Indy Juneteenth, a nonprofit whose mission is to improve the quality and narrative of live around the black community in Indianapolis by creating avenues for celebration and economic growth through unique events and programs designed to celebrate the Juneteenth other under-served Black American holidays.
Moderator:
Tammy L. Cooper is a community advocate, influencer and college professor. She is the founder and Executive Director of the Girl Get It Together Movement, which is an educational workshop series designed to empower, inspire and transform the lives of women and teenage girls. Tammy is the Program Director of the Sankofa Movement group, which teaches black history in the form of live performances that portray famous African American men and women.
