In this three-hour class for beginning poets, we will explore basic strategies you can use to create and shape poems. In-class exercises will help you invent poems, break lines, add layers of meaning, and more. When you leave Beginning Poets Boot Camp, you will have the tools and exercises you need to continue to write poems.
About the instructor:
Liz Whiteacre is the author of Hit the Ground. Her poetry has appeared in Disability Studies Quarterly, Wordgathering, Kaleidoscope, and other magazines. Whiteacre is an award-winning assistant professor of English at the University of Indianapolis where she teaches creative writing, publishing, and advises Etchings Press.
