Flor De Toloache

Flor De Toloache

Presented by The Cabaret at The Cabaret

Meet Latin GRAMMY Winners Flor de Toloache. Breaking boundaries as a female mariachi group, its members hail from such diverse cultural backgrounds as Mexico, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Australia, Colombia, Germany, Italy, and the United States. The result of this cultural bouquet is an edgy, versatile, and fresh take on traditional Mexican music. They coalesce as would a band of sisters, with a grace and vibrant beauty that casts a spell over their audiences not unlike the legendary Toloache flower still being used in Mexico as a love potion. While working to preserve centuries old traditions of Mariachi, their mélange of the traditional and the modern pushes the boundaries of the genre and brings Mariachi music to new audiences.

Flor de Toloache have played to sell-out crowds on international stages from Chenai, India to Paris, France and have extensively toured the U.S. In 2017 they won a Latin Grammy for “Best Ranchero/Mariachi Album” for their second studio album Las Caras Lindas. In 2019, they were nominated for a Grammy for “Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album” for their third studio album Indestructible, which was produced by Rafa Sardina and includes collaborations with notable artists including John Legend, Miguel, Camilo Lara, and Alex Cuba. The group’s live performances have been praised by Rolling Stone, Billboard Magazine, The New Yorker, GQ Magazine, The New York Times. Following a highly praised NPR’s “Tiny Desk Concert,” their collaboration with rock supergroup The Arcs landed them on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and BBC 2’s Later with Jools Holland.

Additional time info:

We will be requiring audiences to be fully vaccinated and to wear masks so that everyone who visits our venue can feel as safe as possible, given our current public health situation. The national and international artists slated to perform at The Cabaret are making it clear that they expect this level of safety precaution to perform here. While performing on our stage, they are unable to wear masks to protect themselves. “Full vaccination” means that either 14 days have passed since receiving the second dose of FDA or WHO authorized double-dose vaccines or that 14 days have passed since receiving the sole dose of FDA or WHO authorized single-dose vaccines. Per CDC Guidelines, masks are required to be always worn (over the nose and mouth), regardless of vaccination status, except while actively eating and drinking.  Face shields and gaiters are not approved alternatives to face masks.  Complimentary masks will be made available at the door as needed. If you’re feeling ill or have symptoms related to a cold or infectious disease, please stay home.
