Saks Art Gallery presents “Adaptation”, a solo exhibition of Cathy Williams’ mixed-media works at Saks Fifth Avenue, Keystone at the Crossing on 3.

An Artist Reception for “Adaptation” will be held Saturday, November 20, from 1:30 to 5:30pm in the Saks Art Gallery on 3.

The exhibition will run from November 11 through December 5, 2021 and may be viewed during store hours.

Williams will be displaying nearly 50 works ranging in sizes from 6” x 6” through 60’ x 48” on canvas and cradled birch panels.  Her intuitive artwork is generally described as abstract figurative and/or non-objective.  Williams considers herself ‘dissimilar from the crowd.’

I am a contemporary abstract expressionist painter and interdisciplinary artist who creates  unexpected sensical and nonsensical works with mixed media on canvas, board, or sculpture.

Splats and dribbles of paint lend themselves to the rawness of my work allowing areas of clarity coupled with looseness of form and detail to shine through the layers of acrylic.

My artwork is intriguing, sensual and edgy, creating a visual question of what is real and what is left to the viewer’s imagination.  I describe myself as an artist who paints what I feel; my feelings generally take me to bizarre places.

I am happily dissimilar from the crowd.
