-“Bracing for Hope” by Yeabsera Tabb in the Harrison Gallery. This series of wood relief block prints and mixed media features portraits of the Harrison Center’s Greatriarchs and explores the nuanced concept of home, the comfort, the security, and the juxtaposition of fear and anxiety that immigrants experience when that sacred thing we call home is threatened. This collection of work is about memories and warm feelings of family, nostalgia, heritage, and most of all, hope.
-“Another Look Outside” by Megan and Corey Jefferson in the Speck Gallery. The two artists explore nature through their respective mediums, painting and ceramics, with large ceramics bowls, fishes, boats, and nature and waterway paintings.
-“2022 Greatriarchs” by Abi Ogle in the City Gallery. The Harrison Center unveils the six newest Greatriarchs. Each portrait is inspired by visual themes drawn from African American art history.
-67th Street Printmakers Member Group Show in the Gallery Annex. This community of artists brought together by their love of printmaking will be showing a variety of works created with numerous printmaking methods.
-“Elemental” by Liz Nelson in the Hank & Dolly’s Gallery. Featuring cut wood rounds in a blend of both illustrative and abstract styles with found objects, colors, shapes, and textures.
-“Covid Collaboration” by Courtney Hess and Jonathan Glick in the Underground Gallery. Two cousins blend their mediums of design, fabrication, and abstract painting to create a series of discordant images in a muted color palette on masonry boards.

All shows will open at 6 pm Friday, February 4th. 

In-person gallery tours will open for visitors Monday-Friday from 9 am – 5 pm. Online galleries will open on February 7th. Make an appointment or view the online galleries at harrisoncenter.org/buy-art.

Special Senior Hours are every Friday from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. No appointment is needed.
