Full Circle Nine Gallery Presents Victor Tulli, “The Simple Things ” for April First Friday

Presented by Full Circle Nine Gallery at Full Circle Nine Gallery

This show marks Tulli’s debut as a featured artist.

“I would describe my art as bold in color, lines, and shading, while also being spiced with a bit of provocative thought or a dash of humor,” Tulli said, of this acrylic painting and digital art collection. “Pop culture and media that I like are usually the subject of an art piece. I always try to make the significance of my art as insignificant as possible. Yes, deep meanings and taking a stance is a core of what art is. Though, it’s my opinion that life could use a little more surface-deep things. Life is too short and too dreary sometimes, so it’s nice to have someone without a keen interest on the meaning of art still look at a piece of mine and go, ‘Oh, that’s cool!’ while at the same time someone with that keen interest might scratch their chin.”

About Victor Tulli

Victor Tulli, of Brownsburg, Indiana, credits his family for his interest and practice in art. His mother and cousins were all very talented, but had let their skills fall by the wayside as life got in the way. Tulli grew up examining the the maps his grandfather drew while working for the geological survey. Drawn personally to pop-culture hits, such as Dragon Ball Z, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Pokemon, Star Wars and Lego Bionicle, as well as various manga, Tulli leaned hard into art classes in middle and high school, studying a wide variety of media.

“Photoshop to Ceramics, and everything in between,” Tulli explained. “But the style I liked using the most? Paint and Sharpies. The pieces always could be seen from far down the hallway and I loved the boldness in that. That eye-catching appeal. Now, I try to keep that instant acquisition of sight. Striking enough to draw the eye, and then maybe a joke or perspective to make the glance worthwhile.”

Tulli seeks to give a reprieve to the busy or, especially lately, discombobulating world around.

“Enjoy the small things. Not everything needs to be mentally complex or bogged down with strong emotions. A moment in life to just slow down can calm the world you live in. Sometimes, especially in the world of today, keeping it simple can get lost on us. I would like my art to just be as painless and effortless to enjoy as I am able. There isn’t enough of those things in everyone’s day-to-day,” Tulli said.
